The Driving Standard.
The following is the required standard you must set as a Patrol Officer and above when driving. Driving below the set standard may result in action from the Training department and if required, Internal Affairs.
Some rules do not apply when responding lights & Sirens.
You must:
Drive at a speed that is appropriate and safe.
Stop at red lights unless turning right and the road is clear.
Stay on your side of the road.
Always practice safe driving habits!
You must NOT:
Run Red Lights.
Drive on the sidewalk.
Cross the Double Yellow Line
Run Red Lights
Drive at excess speed that causes danger to you or other road users
Driving the wrong way on a one way street.
Block Fire Hydrants.
Drive on the wrong side of the road.
Deliberately crash into other vehicles or persons
